Globe 5.80 plans detailed to allow you to successfully build the hull deck, fitout, rudder Keel, mast and boom with all rigging. There are 8 Large sheets and 20 small detail drawings. You should also use the Kit instruction videos as a guide, even building from raw materials and watch and learn from the Online builder Blogs of the first prototype (one building in Poland by Piotr Czarniecki for Don McIntyre) which take approx. 500 hours to build. Other 5.80 builds will quickly be underway in France, Australia, Argentina, Russia, America, Italy, Britain and Spain, so language will not be a problem.
You will need to fill out buyer/builder details including full name and contact details and delivery address for your Registered Numbered in sequence paper plans (or email plans outside Europe) that will be sent by registered Post with tracking numbers. You will also need to agree to the builders blog and comply with certain other conditions like confirming you have read all the Question and Answer sheets on this website. Once payment is received your details are passed to the Janusz the designer in Poland…He will contact you by email and forward a consent form to build one Class Globe 5.80 only, which you must sign and return to him. Then you can get really excited!!…Good luck…
Anyone may buy Plans for the ClassGlobe 5.80 and be given a registered plan Number…WELCOME to the 5.80 Family!!! We will try to process your order as soon as possible but please remember that we are all volunteers.
You will receive an email confirmation from the SHOP. We then pass your details to the Designer JANUSZ who will contact you. Once you complete his registrations he will send your plans to you. You are buying your plans from him through this SHOP and he will be your contact for the build, but please keep communications to a minimum. For Class 5.80 questions contact the ClassGlobe FaceBook page….Thanks 🙂
IMPORTANT!!! Owner and Builder registrations.
When you purchase a set of Registered and Numbered Class 5.80 construction plans, you may, or may not decide to register that yacht with CG5.80A and build it to One Design Class rules. If NOT, that yacht may be built to any standard and used as the owner wishes, but it can NEVER be brought back into the CG5.80A Class at any time in the future, even though it may appear similar.
To achieve FULL CG5.80A Initial Classification and Registration of the Yacht, the purchaser YOU must agree to and abide by the following conditions and LATER sign a declaration to the effect,….BY PURCHASING THESE PLANS YOU ARE AGREEING TO DO THAT.
1. To build or have built the ClassGlobe5.80 to the best of his/her ability as described in the plans and building detail abiding by all directions and instructions contained within as a minimum, but extra strengthening “may” be allowed subject to approval.
2. To establish and maintain free to the public during the entire build process, a builders BLOG with detailed pictures and general descriptions of every build process through to completion and sailing, allowing anyone to log on and inspect the quality of work. This site should then be maintained for future reference for at least five years after launching of that ClassGlobe 5.80.
3. To have the final timber Glass Hull deck bulkhead and interior fit-out (prior to fittings) accurately weighed by an “Approved” independent third party (Checking minimum weight with certified scales) and the result forwarded to both the National (if one exists) and International CG5.80A.
4. To have the completed Keel structure surveyed and weighed by an “Approved” independent third party, to confirm compliance with Build Specifications and weight with the results forwarded to both the National (If one exists) and international CG5.80A.
5. Agree to use only the Official CG5.80A certified set of three rudder gudgeons and pintles, chain plates and stem fitting supplied by Ocean Frontiers Pty Ltd. Engraved and numbered to match plan set. Price to be advised.
6. Agree to Place the two ClassGlobe 5.80 safety orange mainsail patches, one on each side at the head of the main sail, and the McIntyre Adventure ClassGlobe5.80 Logo each side of the Cabin as described.
7. That the owner YOU and builder take full and complete responsibility for the construction and safety of Class Globe 5.80 once launched, that the captain of the ClassGlobe5.80 is always solely responsible for the safety of all persons onboard, and that the designer, owner and promoter of the ClassGlobe 5.80 make no representation as to the designs safety, or suitability, as being fit for any purpose whatsoever, other than day sailing in good weather and calm conditions and that the designer, owner and promoter of the ClassGlobe 5.80 take no responsibility for the ClassGlobe5.80 yacht once built. The owner builder also accepts and acknowledges that it is the owner/builders complete and total responsibility to determine if the design is fit for any purpose whatsoever and once built, if the yacht is seaworthy for any sailing or voyage. The Owner builder also acknowledges that sailing in any body of water, both fresh and salt, is inherently dangerous and can and does cause injury and death. The owner acknowledges that the Designer and Owner/promoters of the ClassGlobe5.80 One design are NON_EXPERT in such matters and their advice or recommendations should not be taken seriously.
